Night Pump is a short first-person horror game set during a night shift at Route 9 Gas, an isolated gas station surrounded by nothing but forest and darkness.

You are Jake, a 19-year-old starting his first ever night shift. Your manager leaves at 11 PM. You are alone until 6 AM.

You arrive by car. The station is quiet. The lights hum. The forest around you is still. For a moment, everything feels normal.

Then the first customer walks in.

The Demo

The Night Pump demo covers the first part of the game — your arrival at Route 9 Gas and your first hours alone on the job.

A traveler stops by and buys something before leaving in a hurry. He seems nervous. Before he goes, he mentions something about the woods — figures moving between the trees. People in robes. He doesn't stop to explain.

Two hours pass. Then an older man arrives. He smokes outside before coming in. He says he used to know the boy who worked here before you. He doesn't say what happened to him.

Then the lights go out.

The station goes dark. You need to fix the power. But when you do, something has changed. The air feels wrong. You find yourself in the bathroom, breathing hard, unable to explain why.

Something is already inside your head.

The Mechanic

When the lights go out, the game activates your real microphone. Any sound above the threshold — a cough, a breath, a word — and something will hear you.

No microphone? You can disable this in the options menu.
